Menstrual cramps.... contractions 37+5

So for the past few days maybe a week I've been experiencing menstrual like cramps which I guess are contractions or Braxton Hicks contractions. Anyway has any other moms been experiencing this or have with previous pregnancies who could tell me more about it. Like is it a sign I'm going to loose my mucus plug soon or that my water will break soon or anything like that. I'm going to my doctor tomorrow and I'll talk to her as well, but I just wanted some first hand experience. Thank you in advanced for your help.
