Finding friends is hard

I grew up in a small town and had a good group of friends then. I got married right out of high school and left since he joined the military. Finding friends when you’re a military spouse is a bit easier since there are always people willing to meet others and bring them in to your group (in my experience at least). I got divorced and moved back to my hometown 8 years ago and really haven’t made any good friends since then. My old friends had moved on or we were just not on the same page anymore. The few friends I did keep in town are weighing me down since it’s always me reaching out to talk or hang out so I feel like I’m more of a burden. One of my very good friends married earlier this year so I know she’s caught up with him at the moment but it was the same way with her ex husband so I honestly don’t see it going back to how it was when she didn’t have him.

Its so hard making friends as an adult. I feel weird going up and being like “hey- want to be my friend?”
