Someone stole my boyfriend’s dads phone and then sent his dads friend a smiley face and peace sign emojis. My boyfriend found the address of the person that has his phone from find my iPhone. Should my boyfriend tell the police?

why wouldn't you??? it's theft. why wouldn't you report a CRIME to the POLICE?!

When my stuff got stolen, I told the police I had the IP address and the location from find my iPhone and the cops said they can’t just go knock and accuse someone of stealing something. They said if you want to go you can, but they will not. I would still report it obviously but in my experience cops really aren’t that helpful when it comes to this sort of thing. Other than keeping an eye out for the goods and looking for the bar code (what’s it called? I can’t remember! Lol that special number on electronics) at pawn shops and everything, there’s not much they can do.

Yes of course. This is very common to use the find my iPhone feature to catch someone and the cops do use it

A few years ago my phone was stolen and I ended up solving the case myself. I told the police once I figured it out. They arrested the girl. I didn’t get any compensation for my phone but at least it’s on her record 🤷🏽‍♀️
