I got my first blood work done, and my blood type is A- and i have to get a shot at 28 weeks and right after i have the baby. So my body doesn't creat antibodies to hurt the baby if its blood type is +. 
This is so interesting to me! 
Anyone else have this issue?

It’s called RH negative. It’s super common.

Yup, super normal. I’m O-. Anybody who has a negative blood type needs it unless baby has the same blood type as mom.

Yep I’m A- but will be declining the shot after doing some research. It’s only needed if your blood for some reason mixes with your baby’s and also only if the baby has a positive blood type. There are risks and possible complications with the shot so I wouldn’t take it unless absolutely necessary

I am A- and got the rhogam shot at 32 weeks. My arm was sore after wards but other than that I had 0 side effects. This is my first baby and at first they figured that I would be fine but ordered an antibodies panel when I did my glucose test and decided to give me the shot anyway. I’ll have to have it after birth as well within 72 hours. I did find it interesting as well. I didn’t know much about being RH negative until becoming pregnant and reading about it.

I don’t know their blood types but I do know my mom is negative and my father is positive my mom did have to have it with my sister but not me. I didn’t have to have it done with either of my boys thankfully.

I have O - and husband is O+ both of our girls are O- 😂 and now I’m pregnant with our 3rd so we will see what he is in a few months.

I also had to get the rhogam (spelling?) shot :) I never thought about it as interesting but I knew about it beforehand because my mom and sister talked about it. Now that I think about it, if they hadn’t of talked about it, I probably would have thought it sounded really interesting too! :)
