I’m a sewist by trade, I’m 15, and I made my own dress today. I’m very satisfied with it. It’s just a bit shorter than I’d like, but it’s not a huge deal- it’s still appropriate. I was going for a 1940-50s style of dress. (Ignore my ceiling caving in.)
