What would y’all do?

Question! Thanksgiving is coming up in 3 days and family will be bringing a child there who was just recently diagnosed with RSV today. Said the doctor said it’s unlikely to pass to children over 4 years and older. My children are over 4 years old. I’m pregnant. Would y’all go?! My children are very healthy children maybe get 1 fever a year, sometimes 0. I just don’t want my children or myself to be sick. It would suck to miss out on everything but we’ve gotta travel the next day. Any advice?

I wouldn't risk it. I have a rule in my house. If you're sick, getting sick or been sick with anything at all in the last week, stay away from me and my family!

The people with the sick kid are the ones who should be staying home. Not only to avoid others being exposed but the poor child should be resting not put gallivanting around.

Why would someone bring a baby around others while it's sick? That not only risks other people's health, but could make the child sicker. I would not be going.

I wouldn’t go. I wouldn’t want to knowingly expose myself or children.... but really the people who are bringing a child with rsv is a little mind blowing to me.... if my kids were sick I wouldn’t be taking them to family gathering thanksgiving or not... one I wouldn’t want to expose everyone and two that’s just asking a lot from the poor sick kid who just needs to lay low and be home relaxing....

I would not go. If someone is sick, I’m staying away from them and if I had kids, they’d stay away from them as well.
