Do you guys put your baby down to sleep while they are awake? Or do you get them to fall asleep first, then put them down?

I wouldn’t say awake but very sleepy just not fully asleep!

Usually has to be asleep on me for a good 15-20 mins before I can even think about putting her down in her bassinet.

Awake! He does better putting himself to sleep actually. If I try to rock him to sleep he gets fidgety and angry. So weird lol

At night time I can put him in his bassinet while he is drifting to sleep. During the day though, not a chance. I’ve been trying to lay him in his crib while he is drowsy but it results in multiple rock and returns. It’s exhausting. (12 weeks)

Naps... Forget about it. He still naps on people. At night, we put him down asleep the first time, but awake for any middle of the night wakings.

Always awake since the day we brought her home. She usually babbles for a second and then goes to sleep.

It just depends! I try to put him down drowsy but a lot of times he just won't have it and I end up holding him lol

I put mine down at 7:30-8 and sometimes he’s tired enough that he will just stare at the wall until he falls asleep and other times he will “fussy cry” himself to sleep. Either way he’s usually out for the night in like 10 minutes

Usually I put her down asleep already but last night I put her down awake (but drowsy) and she fell asleep on her own so I think I will try that more often.
