Did anybody do a court house wedding and have a reception after?

I had a court wedding, and my immediate family went to have a nice lunch together after. It was perfect for me. After lunch my friend took some very nice photos for us in a park and overall, that covered all the important bases of getting married 👰🏼

I had a beach elopement wedding in September. Having a reception in April or May.

I didnt necessarily have a court house wedding. But it was extremely casual. I was in a shirt and jeans lol. So was my husband. Everyone else did the same except maybe did their hair/makeup etc. We had a little cake and just sat there enjoying everything. It was a very small wedding, afterwards we went back to a friends house for a huge bon fire and some drinks. I wouldnt have it any other way if I'm honest.

I’d be confused as to why? The reception is the more expensive part of a wedding anyway!
