Anyone else had an intravaginal ultrasound?

As I said last night, i ended up going to the ER and had to get an intravaginal ultrasound and I experienced bleeding. It’s 12 hours later and I’m still having bleeding. Is this still considered normal? I’m scared I might be miscarrying right now.

I had one, but did not have bleeding/spotting. Internal ultrasounds are perfectly fine and safe for both mama and baby. You could be having some spotting because of some irritation to the cervix. I wouldn’t worry! If you’re that worried, then I would ask to see your OB and bring your worries to them!

A similar situation happened to me in June. I was home and passed a blot clot and was bleeding. Went to the hospital and had a US and it seemed to make it worst because it irritated my cervix more. I continued to pass everything at the hospital. I would never get another transvag US while spotting or anything of the sort because I have a sensitive cervix. I’m sorry you experienced this!
