Is $982 every two weeks worth it?

I’m a teacher and this is all my paycheck is yielding every two weeks. I teach 31 fifth graders all day, don’t hardly ever see my LO except for like an hour or two a day, and spend two hours planning every night. Feels like a thankless job. 
Would you quit at the end of the year if you were in my shoes? Considering going back to school and staying home or a career change to something less stressful.

Yes. It wasn’t worth it to keep my job and I was getting $1200 every paycheck. I love staying home, and my entire salary would have just gone to daycare anyway. Haha.

You only make $200 more than me a paycheck and I only work 20 hours a week and bring my kids with me   Seems like you could find something you’d enjoy more. Or at least be able to spend more time with your family

I teach too. But I'm lucky enough that my mom watches my daughter. But here's my thoughts, and if it makes you upset, I'm sorry. You knew when you went to college for this profession that we get paid shit and we aren't appreciated. But, if you're like me, you didn't go into this profession for those things. You went into it for the love of the profession and the kids you work with everyday. I'm by no means saying that our pay is fair, because we literally get paid less than any other job that requires a bachelor's degree. I'm also not saying that 31 kids is a reasonable class size, because Lord knows that it's freaking outrageous. If you're truly not happy and can't afford it, then yes, I would quit. But I also would recommend that maybe you teach through an online school. I have a friend whose husband is in the navy, so they get moved a lot and she teaches through an online school and loves it. If I were you I'd quit. I started student teaching when I was pregnant, quit student teaching after 2 weeks because I saw how hard my teacher was working. She had two kids herself and told me how much she works and how little pay she makes. Best decision ever. Did not want to get sucked in to that career. Now I'm a SAHM and loving seeing my baby all day 😊

When I worked full time I only made $1,300 a month. Then when I worked part time I only made $500-600. But daycare would’ve cost $650 3 days a week and that was with my 50% off employee discount. If daycare is more than half your pay and your not the one providing insurance then I vote quit.

I absolutely HATE how this country treats it's teachers. You guys are the ones that are shaping the next generation for Pete's sake!! Our kids sometimes spend more time with their teachers than their parents! It just makes me sick how undervalued teachers are! We wouldn't have doctors or scientists without them. In my opinion teachers should make at LEAST 50k a year.
But yeah it's sad bc currently I am a private banking associate at a small bank and I make  about the same but sometimes very slightly more and I have no degree yet. Im so sorry... But thank you for all you do for the children!!!
