always driving to him

Currently a college student living at home until I can move into a house with a couple girls for the last 2 years of college. My boyfriend lives like 16 miles away from my house and I am constantly the one driving to him, I really don’t have an issue with it, there is NOTHING to do at my house. We always find more to do at his. However my parents hate it because i’m always putting miles on my car and he rarely comes here and I understand but i’m just trying to come up with a better plan to make my parents happy and still see him during times he doesn’t want to drive to my house and when i’ve been going there so often and need to stay home. He doesn’t mind driving to my house but he drives over an hour to and from work (he’s a firefighter). I don’t know how to approach or even be okay with maybe not seeing each other that day because I have to be home, or even have the willpower to just be alright if he doesn’t want to drive here I always cave and end up going to him. Anyone ever dealt with something similar?? This sounds so childish but living with my parents while they support means living by their rules lol.
