Clomid? Progesterone? Help!

Hi ladies, so my husband and I have been TTC #1 for a year (started when I was 22 and he was 26). Since we’re so young the doctors ordered some testing. They tested my progesterone at CD 24 and it came out to 8.5 (the nurse said I should be between 13-15). They’re prescribing clomid to help bring up my progesterone. We have yet to receive the results of my husbands test, but for now I’m a bit confused as to what this means? Am I not ovulating every month and the clomid will help me ovulate or am I ovulating with “weak” eggs? I’m not quite sure what these results mean and the nurse didn’t have much time on the phone to explain, so if anyone can help clear things up I’d appreciate it !
