I'm just a snob.

Jordan

I just needed to vent somewhere, so here I am. Christmas presents. My sons grandparents have been asking what he needs for presents. I've told them all just to get some books and a toy or two. He will only be 4 months old, he doesn't need a bunch of junk. My boyfriends mom insisted that she get him a "better present". So I told her that she could get us a high chair, since it won't be long before he starts eating real food. Cool. She asked me to pick one out. I sent her a couple options that I had been looking at. Nothing fancy, just wanted something neutral (so I can use it in the future if I ever have a daughter too) and something that folded down nice for storage. Today my boyfriend texts me and says that we have a high chair coming this week. I asked if he knew which one she got. Turns out, she didn't like any of the ones I had picked. She is obsessed with batman, so she went out of her way to find a BATMAN HIGHCHAIR. Guys, I hate batman. Never been a fan. Don't really want a big batman high chair sticking out like a sore thumb in my kitchen. So I nicely said "what was wrong with the ones I had picked out?".... I was called a snob and told that I should just be grateful. I am grateful. Believe me, I appreciate the gesture. But why batman? Why can't I just get a regular high chair? Calling me a snob because I'm not thrilled about a batman chair has got me pretty annoyed. Right now I feel like just giving the high chair away as soon as it arrives. Ugh. I know I'll calm down eventually, but right now I am just so mad, upset, annoyed... Why do grandparents feel like they know best all the time. You had your chance with your own kids. Let me raise mine.
