Should I stop or is this normal?

Question

My baby is a month old tomorrow. My breasts feel like they are empty. The engorgement stage has passed and now they just feel empty. 
Baby is having several wets and dirty diapers a day BUT she only has 2 good naps during the day. About 2 hours. But the rest of the day shes rooting and wanting to feed constantly. 
I have two other children and now am starting to feel like as much as I love breastfeeding, this is taking away time from my other children. 
Is this just a phase? Should i stop bf? Am i even producing enough since baby is constantly wanting to eat? 
I bf my second 2 years ago. So i thought I would know what to expect but i just have doubts. Please help a momma out. Im losing it over here.

No, don’t stop! This is perfectly normal. She is doing this to increase your supply. It will go away eventually. But by emptying you, she’s telling your body to produce more. Give it more time, I understand it’s hard. That being said, there is nothing wrong with formula feeding. Just trying to give you encouragement if breastfeeding is what you want. But I switch to formula myself after returning to work because I don’t feel like I can pump easily at work and it’s stressful. So I get it either way! 😊😊

Sounds like your milk has regulated hun they don’t have to fill full to be full. My boobs feel empty all the time but I’m still EBF for a year now. As long as baby having enough wet nappies they getting enough hun. Baby wanting to feed constantly is normal to. My little girl would go 30-1hr between feeds at newborn stage only when she got bigger 3months she would go between 1.30-2hrs. If you don’t want to stop don’t stop 😊 but nothing wrong going to formula if you feel like it’s to much. She’s my 3rd so I know it’s hard splitting time between all of your babies but it gets easier once they feed less often.

As long as baby is having enough wet and dirty diapers and gaining weight at appts then they are getting enough milk. It’s normal for them to want to eat a lot. Their tummy’s are super tiny and breastmilk is easily and quickly digested. My first nursed one breast every hour for 20 min to an hour till 6 months old. My 2nd is 12 weeks old and he nurses both breasts 5-10 min each every hour. Cluster feeding is how they signal more milk to be produced. Breasts feeling empty doesn’t indicate a supply issue. I’ve got tiny size a tots and when baby is feeding every hour they feel soft too. When he goes longer between feeds then they start to feel fuller. Remember to stay hydrated, eat plenty of calories, keep taking prenatals, sleep as well as you can, skin to skin. I also want to add that for my sanity my little guy gets bottles with breastmilk and I give him formula as well. I need a break sometimes and that’s ok. Whatever you decide to do mama is fine! You are doing a great job. 💕

At about that same age, my baby did a lot of gas-related rooting/hand sucking that I mistook for hunger. They are still getting used to the feel of their digestive systems working and unintentionally clench up—sucking helps them relax to pass gas, etc. Our pediatrician says they have a reflex until around 2 months of age that causes their bowels to release anytime they have a full tummy.
If our LO was making those hunger signs after what I knew was a solid feed, I’d watch to see if he was also arching his back and pulling up his legs. We would hold off on feeding again until we first tried some extra burping, bicycling the legs, rubbing the belly, gas drops, etc. Adding more food to a full belly was making things worse and we often (though not always) had a happier baby by resolving the real issue—burps and toots! 💨 
Whether it’s gas or cluster feeding or both, sounds normal for this stage of the game!
