Will formula help him go longer?

My son is 5.5 months old. All day and night he only lasts barely 3 hours before he screams for nipple. I'm so tired. Could I add formula to help him go longer or his feeding before bed and at night so I can sleep longer?

It’s still normal for him to want to eat that often😬 if he’s satisfied after nursing the. He’s getting enough. But there’s no harm in trying formula either🤷‍♀️ mine didn’t stop the 3 hour feedings yntil around 7 or 8 months. Now she’s a year old and sleeps 12 hours at night. He will grow out of it when he’s ready

So my little one is 3 months and goes 2-3 hours but i work part time, i started giving her one bottle at night of formula and she sleeps for about 5 hours, it’s amazing because i get some good sleep. I feel you there it’s hard, i give her the bottle around 8/9PM and then when she’s ready to feed I breastfeed her

You could try sleep training for the nights. My daughter was waking up out of habit & after we sleep trained, she only woke up once throughout the night. We implemented an eat, play, sleep schedule after about a month & that actually is the thing that got her to sleep through the night. She has now been sleeping 11+ hours through the night for about a month & a half.
