Trimesters ?!

Does the third trimester start at 27 or 28 weeks ??? Because I have one telling me one thing and another the opposite

I'm honestly not sure...but both my previous babies came at 38 and a couple of days so I'm considering myself 3rd trimester now at 27 weeks 2 days. I'll be 28 weeks 1 day at my next appointment but I'm pretty sure my office also considers me 3rd trimester now...at 12 weeks they told me I was in my 2nd trimester.

My just had my 28 week appointment yesterday. My OB congratulated me for hitting the 28 week, third trimester milestone.
