A schedule with child’s father

My daughters father and I just broke up about a month ago. Lately, our daughter has been acting up and I told him he needs to be in her life more...(which nothing has changed before the break up and after the breakup). We came up with a schedule where he’d stay with her one week, and I’d stay with her the next week, and so forth, and so forth... has anybody had success with this? I told him if he’s gonna be putting our child off to his mother or sister just so he could do whatever he wants, then I’m not going through with it because the whole point was for her to spend some time with him more.
