UTI in toddler?

Question

Anyone had their toddler tested for a UTI? How do they do it if they’re not potty trained? I read online they insert a catheter?! 😳
Please tell me you’ve had other (better) experiences?

My son’s been tested twice and he’s not potty trained. They have sticky baggies they put around his penis then put his diaper back on and wait. The wait can be loooooooong because some babies get stressed being at the doctor’s office and having something weird in their diaper, so my office let us go home and bring the sample back later if he didn’t go in an hour.

They put a plastic bag with sticky stuff around one edge on under a diaper to catch the pee... and then test what they catch. It's not too bad. Just give the little one a cup of juice before you go so they go😁

My son had one, he had tonsillitis and the AB gave him explosive nappies, he got a mild UTI just after that. They just gave me a pad bit like period pad for his nappy once it was wet they pulled some urine out with a syringe n tested that x
