Still don’t feel deep connection with baby?

My baby is 2 months on and when I’m away I don’t miss him like I thought I would , I mean I miss him but it isn’t overwhelming . I love him dearly but I still can’t believe that I have a kid .

I think it’s completely normal. My husband felt an instant connection with my daughter but it took me quite awhile. I knew I must love her because it made me very upset when she would cry and I didn’t know what was wrong with her but I couldn’t really feel the love or bond until later. I think our bodies go through so much and our hormones are all over the place for awhile after birth. Please give yourself a little patience and grace, you’ve created a human and are now taking care of a baby with lots of needs. It’s hard work! Your bond will deepen in time without a doubt.

Definitely normal! Just wait until your child is older and with more personality...mine is almost 2 and I miss him all the time! When they can show that they missed you, that’s when you’ll start really missing them.

Totally normal. I’m not a very emotional person and I’m pretty sure I felt just relief to be away from my 2 month old because it was such a rare occurrence.
