I wanna have sex and I really am in need of advice

Okay so little backstory:

I really value sex, it’s something that is personal and I find it to be sentimental and a very serious thing. And that may just be my old souls or I’m old fashioned but Ive been with my boyfriend for about 10 months and we’re both only 16. But I’m very much in love with him, he’s very much in love with me, and everyone knows it my whole family loves him, his family loves me too, like we’re very serious of a couple. Me and my mom have had like 2 talks about me and my boyfriend having sex and she wants me to let her know in advance before we start to have sex (about 3 months) so I can go on the pill.

My point:

We have never had sex yet, and I don’t know how to bring it up to my mom, I’m honestly scared to and the thing is, idek how we would have sex but I just know that after a year of being with him, I’ll want to have sex some point in time after and we’re both comfortable with it. I just need to bring it up to my mom and that’s scary. 🥺 please help me
