Post Partum Checkup

What generally happens at the first post partum check? The 6 week one or about then. I had a c-section but I’m in the process of switching doctors. The secretary just scheduled me for a physical, I explained to the doctor but I just want to make sure everything that needed to be done was. It was a quick appointment.

My other question is - is 10 weeks too late to have an iud put in?? The doctor told me to have it done next week but when the secretary scheduled me she said I couldn’t get in until into January. She told me I needed to wait for my period but I’m breastfeeding and not expecting a period.
