Lovie at bedtime

Hello!!

I posted this in the parenting thread, but I figured I’d post it here as well since we all have babies around the same age right now!

So I have a 7 month old and she has one of those little square blankets with the animal head in the middle....you all know what I’m talking about lol she is obsessed with it and will not fall asleep without it. She loves it so much I went and bought 2 more identical ones because were in trouble if we ever lose it or it gets ruined.

Anyway, we give it to her at night in her crib to fall asleep, then we sneak in and grab it from her after she’s asleep. But lately, when we take it she wakes up instantly and either cries until she has it back or will not fall back asleep.

So, is it safe to let her keep it through the night?? It’s not very big, but it is big enough to cover her face. We had a family friend lose their 1 month old from accidental suffocation recently (they had the baby in bed with them and it was cosleeping gone bad accident), but my husband and I are on edge with stuff like this after seeing something like that happen so close to home.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! ❣️
