Hospital Bag?!

Ladies!! For those of you who have delivered before...
What are the essentials for a hospital bag? I’m 28 weeks so I need to start thinking about getting one together. What did you bring, what SHOULD you have brought and didnt...what was a waste of space...etc.

Just bring what makes you comfortable. For me something I wanted and didn’t have was a robe and my own clothes for those first few hours afterward. I was afraid that I would bleed all over. This time I will be bringing my own nighty, one I don’t care if I ruin and one for once things are a bit more under control lol I just wore the hospital thing and it wasn’t pleasant. I also like to bring my own baby blankets for babe instead of using the hospitals blankets. Maybe your own period panties. The hospital has these weird mesh like underwear, but again, not pleasant.

I recommend that my doula clients keep a towel folded on top of their hospital bag when they have it stored by the door. It will be helpful if your water breaks before you leave for the hospital to set on the seat in the car orrrr just in case your water breaks on the way, so you don’t have to worry about making a mess in the car

For you= Slip on slippers is a lifesaver cause your up an down an cant really bend.. nighty for delivery button up one even better for skin to skin.. comfy pjs thats all anyone wore pjs while i was in.. something to go home in.. comfy big underwear..dark colours.. dark coloured towels.. loads of maternity pads. Lipbalm! .. 
For baby vests babygrows nappies muslin cloths wee hat an mits if cold for going home. Own wee blankets if you want.
