What to pack in hospital bag?

I’m a FTM and currently 29 weeks. I decided now would be the best time to start arranging my hospital bag. I have no clue what to pack besides slippers, baby’s outfit, and toiletries. What does the hospital usually provide? What should hubby pack?

I know in Ontario Canada right now with our ohip budget cuts we are cutting back and asking mom's to bring everything they think they'll need (I work in L&D). Some hospitals are even to the point of selling diapers, and limiting the Post Partum Undies to one pair per patient.

Phone chargers! Snacks. Loose button up tops or just a bathrobe as you’ll be boobfeeding or skin to skin all the time. Car seat—we threw ours in the back of the car on the way to the hospital with our first and installed it before leaving but totally planning on doing it ahead of time for this one.
My hospital provided ice packs, heat pads, pain meds, salt for the first two days I was there but continued providing sanitary pads after. There was a snack room with stuff like various juices crackers yogurt and fruit cups, but not consistently stocked. (You will most likely be ravenous so be prepared!) (side note: my hospital had a code word for unwanted guests—I just had to tell them I wanted pineapple juice which is something they never serve on menu and they’d discreetly ask guests to leave. I never had to use it but it was good to know!) They provided diapers, blankets, shirt, formula supplements, hats for baby until we left. I even know some people that took a blanket home with them.
It really depends on your hospital and how long you are there. We had to stay a week and my hubby was able to pick some stuff up at the Walmart which was next door. Headphones might be nice if you like music. I watched a ton of YouTube videos on the topic of what people loved or regretted which also helped.

Good suggestions. I'd add your own pillow, vaseline as hospitals tend to be dry, a water bottle, slippers. Robes are necessary! And my hospital didn't provide diapers or wipes.
Bring a suitcase and don't stress about over packaging. You'd rather have stuff you didn't end up needing, then forgetting some thing you do relay on. Plus its nice to have the extra room to pack gifts tou receive.
I didn't pack my bag until the night before my Csection at 37+ weeks. I found I still needed everything I wanted to pack.

With my first I packed comfy clothes (nursing tanks and pajama pants), a robe and slippers for after the birth, toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, toothbrush, toothpaste), phone chargers, a few snacks, 2 outfits for baby (newborn and 0-3 months) to go home in and a swaddle.  Hospital provided a shirt/hat/blankets for baby while we were there, baby toiletries, diapers, 4x4s that you wet for wipes.

I would call the hospital and see what they provide. Some do a lot and some have like nothing really at all. I basically just needed a going home outfit for myself and baby and a phone charger. HahA

Pack a couple outfits for baby (newborn and 0-3 month in case they’re bigger- my son skipped newborn clothes and diapers)
You really don’t need much. The hospital provides a lot.
