BBT confirm ovulation?

Does a shift in BBT confirm that you ovulated? Or is it more like "If you ovulated, this is the date it would happen"? I posted a chart of mine below. Does this mean I definitely am ovulating? Any way to test if I'm definitely ovulating? Been trying 11 months now and no BFP so far...

Looks like you ovulated on day 16 and you can use opk to test

Yes. Bbt confirms you’ve ovulated (after it’s happened). You’re looking for three temperatures higher than the previous six to confirm. Try to take your temp every morning at the same time, for your whole cycle. 
Ovulation tests will also help you to predict when ovulation might happen (only actually confirmed when you see a sustained temp rise).
