Would you know to give the onesies back?

So we’re announcing our pregnancy and the baby’s gender at Christmas with our families. We play Dirty Santa at my husband’s extended fam Christmas. For our “gender reveal” I bought a super cute set of onesies and I put it in the box with my regular Dirty Santa gift, so whoever grabs it will open the gender. But now I’m having this fear that whoever opens it will be like “Oh my friend is having a daughter so I can gift this to them!” since its in the regular dirty santa gift? But like.. I want the onesies back 🤣 Do you guys think it would be common sense to give me back the onesies? My husband says that I’m being irrational and they’ll know to give them to me but I just don’t know with his family lol 🤷🏼‍♀️

So you have something else other than the onsie in that particular gift? Personally I think I would be a bit annoyed if 
1. The gift I’m getting is not really a gift but a way for you to announce the baby’s sex.
2. The fact that you want it back . 
If you include another gift in that gift WITH the onsie than person who gets it ,gets to keep THEIR present AND you get to reveal the baby’s sex. Then you can just take the onsie and say it was just a way to reveal it .

You could also do two gifts wrapped separately and put just the onesies in, then when they open it, after the excitement, gift them the real gift and say something about ‘this is the real gift! Lol don’t worry you don’t get onesies for Christmas’ or something like that. That way it’s part of the game - a Christmas trick! Lol

Alright guys- OP here! The 32% of you that would not give the onesies back stressed me out, so I unwrapped my Dirty Santa gift and took the onesies out- so it is now a regular dirty santa gift lol. I re-wrapped it by itself and I’m just going to have MIL open it in front of everyone.

Is it all his family or is there his families inlaws as well? Like at my dads side my aunties family comes as well, which I am not close with but we all play secret santa together. It would be kinda weird if one of them opened my gender reveal box instead of one of my actual family members.. if that makes sense? 
If not though and it's all close family then I would make a seperate box with the reveal and have that one out & then after they open it put the actual gift out. That way it's like " a joke" box & then they still get to open their actual gift.

Write a note with the onesies saying something like, “surprise I’m a ___!” Or “welcome to the (last name) family baby ____!” That way everyone sees it’s a gender reveal and understands.
