When did you have your birthing partner “on call” from?

When did you feel was the right time for your birthing partner to be on call, so no drinking excessively and phone always on one loud etc? Just incase....

My husband and I are pretty much always on call for each other. Emergencies can arise pregnant or not. If my husband or I are out doing something special eg I'm at an event with a friend, he won't call me unless it's important anyway.

The no drinking rule and not being too far from home started after Thanksgiving. Phone always on his hip this past week. I'm due Jan 6th.

Around 34 weeks. I went into labor at 36 weeks so early was best!

I didn’t realize this was even a thing... I plan on having my husband and mom again.  Both work fairly close to where I live and the hospital. I literally don’t remember the last time either of them were too drunk to help me have a baby and if there were a situation where for some crazy reason neither could drive me, someone else in my family would do it.

Never really had him “on call”. My husband works days and nights so I asked him to keep him phone on loud and I would only message/call him if I needed him so he wouldn’t get in trouble. But I never asked him to stop living his life 🤷🏻‍♀️

One should never drink excessively to begin with . That said, I never had my husband “ on call”. He would come home if I went into labor during the day and take me to the hospital. 
But my husband also works too much to drink and go out . He works , comes home, showers , eats and we went to bed. ( that was the routine before our daughter was born). 
Thankfully I went in labor 10 minutes after he got home. I had been feeling “off” all day and around 6 pm I started tracking what felt like small contractions. By 7 pm he got home and the contractions intensified but were not at regular intervals. By 7 10, I was on the floor in pain and it was time to go. And hospital an hour away.

My husband and I just talked about this. Once I’m 36 weeks I want him to be easily accessible lol 😂 Just meaning not going out of town and easy for me to get ahold of. With my first I went into labor at 37 weeks so that’s why I decided on 36 weeks.

My husband doesn't drink, so that's not an issue for us. As far as being available by phone, he naturally just made himself available, even at work (which in retail is no small feat). I realized this when I called him, probably around 30-32 weeks to ask him a mundane question, and he picked up thinking it was baby related. I felt bad bothering him at work, only expecting him to pick up if he was on break or it was convenient for him. I'm much more mind since

He knows when his child is due and he always gets updates about how my doctors appointments go and if I'm feeling funny I tell him. So he is good about being ready if the time happens sooner than we should expect.. My mother doesn't drink so it's just a matter of letting her know when it's time 😏 plus she lives right down the road so if I gotta get her on the way I can

From about 4 weeks before due date, allowed a couple of drinks but nothing excessive incase I went into labour.
