How important are thank you cards?

I'm just now filling out our thank yous from out wedding in June. Better late than never, right?

I think if someone took the time to come to your event and to buy you a gift, that you should take a moment to personally hand write a thank you note. It's a form of acknowledgement and appreciation. I love receiving them and writing them. It's something I look forward to teaching my children.

I meant to send thank you cards after my baby shower, but the baby arrived a few days later and I've been too busy with him since then. Instead, we show them pictures of us using the gifts and thank each of them personally.

I think it depends how much you thanked them on the day. We didn't send out any as we did it repeatedly throughout the day via the favours (multiple), freebies, speeches, signage, in the day service booklet, and of course when we spoke to guests.
