Help am I knocked be up

Ok see I'm 41 years old and I haven't been pregnant or even thought I could be in the last 20 yrs. But for the last month or 2 my periods have been so light that I barely want to call them periods. Well then this month my period hasn't came at all well until tonight I had very light spotting. Now I thought that I might be going into menopause but I don't think my periods would already be starting to be missed. i really need some help in figuring this out. I would just go get a test but then my husband would see it and that isn't what I want to happen until I'm sure I'm pregnant dont want to worry him if I don't have to. One of us worrying is enough....PLEASE HELP
