Are these unsafe?

I bought one of these to use as a cover while I’m breastfeeding but it’s meant to be a car seat cover. My boyfriend thinks it would be really unsafe to use as intended. I’m not planning on using it over our car seat, I’m just wondering what you all think

I used milk snob car seat covers/nursing covers for both of my boys. Just take the car seat cover off when you get into the car. I use it to cover his seat while we are in the store or when we are out and about and he’s sleeping and so that no one comes up to him trying to touch him.

Sooo so unsafe. I cannot stand when I see moms using these. They just trap in heat and CO2 which can be really dangerous for a baby. It doesn't matter if the fabric is "breathable". There's no airflow with these.
