Confused—please answer

I got the birth control that’s goes in your arm about 4 months ago and had a period the first 3....now on month 4 I haven’t gotten it ( the doctor said that I may not have a period while on the birth control) ...last time I had sex was last month. can anyone please tell me if it’s just my period regulating and stopping or.....no
