How do you feel about your pregnancy now?

Question

Does anyone feel that their perception of what their pregnancy would be like is different from what their pregnancy is actually like? What do you think of your pregnancy now?

This is my first and I think of myself as lucky. I thought it would would have been harder and tougher than this. My pregnancy has been soo easy and I am truly enjoying it. I am almost half way through and already can't wait to do it all over again! But, a part of me knows the next time around might be a totally different scenario.

I expected to be hanging my head over the toilet puking my stomach constants constantly. I didn't expect I would sleep as well as I am. I didn't expect the cramps and stretching pains. But over all it's been a very pleasent feeling. I'm enjoying it. Once I stopped over analysing over little thing that is. I'm only 13w3d so I know it may all change soon. But so far I am loving it.

When my husband and I got married I figured oh in a few years we'll start having kids it will be great, I can deal with puking and back pain just fine. Then I started having chronic daily migraines (for 3 years now). We put off having kids hoping my migraines would calm down, they have only gotten worse. Then we put it off after deciding to sell our house and buy the house my husband grew up in. Then about 4 months before we decided we'd start trying, my many years of abnormal pap smears led to my doctor deciding I needed surgery (a cone biopsy) to prevent it from turning cancerous. She insisted we were fine to start trying after those few months because I healed fine. I did get pregnant after actively trying for only 2 months. But going off my preventative migraine meds has been hell. My head hurts every day all day and turn into migraines at least a few days a week. Because of the surgery I had I am at risk for preterm labor and have to have ultrasounds every 2 weeks. Now I just found out (after tons of spotting thru my pregnancy) I have placenta previa. Needless to say its been hell just trying to get the stage of being able to try to get pregnant, and being pregnant in itself has been pretty tough. The one thing in our favor is we were lucky to get pregnant so fast. So basically I had NO idea how hard it would or could be but I hear you get a sweet baby in the end, so that should be worth it ;)

This is my 3rd pregnancy my first 2 were a breeze no morning sickness, headaches, swelling, bloating, nothing but this one has been one thing after another! Sick, swollen, fatigued, headaches, surgery, hormones, bed rest, placenta previa, and now an anterior placenta ugh 24w and done! Thank goodness this is my last

This is my first pregnancy and I'm 30+2. So far, I couldn't love pregnancy more! It has been wonderful. I still work out, go out with friends, do pretty much everything I was doing before, with exceptions and minor changes of course.

Sure, sometimes I'm tired. But I was tired before. I drink a gallon of water a day and was doing so before pregnancy so my need to go pee hasn't changed too terribly much. Sex has gotten a bit different, but I feel super fortunate to be having such a great pregnancy. I hope it continues and my baby arrives happy and healthy!

My thoughts exactly.... until I was 7.5 months pregnant. Maddening torture! I had severe pregnancy induced carpal tunnel - had to soak my arms in ice baths a few times a day to relieve swelling, so I could even bend my fingers.  My hands were constantly aching to the bone and partially numb all the time. I'd wake up constantly through the night in so much pain. Don't even get me started on the sciatic pain that nearly made me fall down the first time it happened. My legs just quit on me out of nowhere while I was switching laundry. Hopefully things stay easy for you...but the home stretch is no joke for most people.

I expected to enjoy pregnancy but I honestly have hated it. I'm a ftm and was throwing up 4-5 times a day or more for the first 3.5 months, unable to go anywhere or eat anything. In and out of hospital dehydrated. I lost 10 pounds and felt like I was in hell. I'm 5 months now and the only things I enjoy about it is how I look in tight clothes and when I feel her move. I am beyond excited and blessed to be pregnant especially after 9 months of trying but it's been extremely difficult on my body. Constant back pain and exhaustion but at least I'm not sick anymore. February can't come soon enough! I just don't foresee wanting to have another baby, we are planning to adopt next instead. I envy those who have easy pregnancies lol

I'm pregnant with twins, this is my first pregnancy. So I don't have anything else to compare it to. I had a very easy first trimester. No morning sickness, slight cramping, my boobs exploded, I was pretty tired, a little more hungry than normal, but still felt great. Towards the end of the first trimester/beginning of the second trimester is when I started getting a decent size belly. So then I got more symptoms. I'm 20 weeks now... And boy have I done a 180 haha I'm so tired, I'm always starving, ALWAYS THIRSTY OMG, my back constantly hurts/spasms, my belly is so heavy and uncomfortable, I have horrible hip/joint pain, basically my entire body hurts.. All the time, I have a very hard time sleeping, I pee every 10-15 minutes, I'm always out of breath and can't breathe, I have heartburn from hell. I could keep going. I knew pregnancy wouldn't necessarily be easy, but I didn't think it would necessarily be hard. But twins were definitely not expected haha luckily I have anywhere from 16-18 weeks left. Hopefully they don't come before that. I will be happy when they get here, I'm so exited to meet them! I will also be glad when they are out haha I know that sounds kind of selfish. I am enjoying my pregnancy though, I love my belly, I love feeling them move/kick and have dance parties together. It's truly an amazing feeling to be growing humans and being able to feel them inside of you! Over all I would say I do enjoy being pregnant. Everything that comes with it is well worth it for my babies, and only temporary until they get here 😊

I didn't really know what too expect but I'm 37 weeks and it still hasn't been horrible. I mean yea I've had horrible heartburn at times that makes my ears burn and my sciatic nerve really acts up sometimes I was really nauseous my first tri but I've only threw up maybe 3-4 times my entire pregnancy and it was mostly from stuff stinking. I've had migraines But overall it really hasn't been horrible. I think it's been pretty nice. (I haven't had any Braxton hicks I guess I'm lucky) I actually for the most part have enjoyed being pregnany especially when baby moves and plays with me from the womb and when he gets the hiccups ☺️

I thought the same my first pregnancy... And then I got preeclampsia and my daughter was born a month early. Second pregnancy has been twice as hard, "morning" aka all day nausea & throwing up last twice as long. I'm in my 3rd trimester and grew twice as fast. Heartburn came quicker and is horrid. I'm a naturally small person so it's caused a lot of back pain and fatigue on top of having a wild 3.5 year old to take care of. I still feel very blessed but personally, pregnancy is a means to an end. I want kids. I love my baby girls. But I don't necessarily enjoy pregnancy. And labor/delivery is something I am dreading. Both my girls are healthy tho and that's the most incredible blessing. I would do it all over again. Maybe 😂
