I went into labor and delivery tonight for abnormal discharge. I was afraid it could be my mucus plug as I’m only 29w. All was good with baby but I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. Doctor didn’t seem too worried, she wrote a prescription and I was on my way.

After a quick google search (I know, I know) I read that it can cause a variety of pregnancy issues such as late miscarriage, early labor, low birth weight etc. Now I’m wondering why my doctor didn’t tell me any of this.

Has anyone had any complications in their pregnancy due to BV?
