Is it true if you are pregnant you can not eat sushi?🍣

Doctors in America say not to consume it, but women in Japan eat it all the time throughout pregnancy. It’s really up to you. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I ate raw sushi weekly throughout my previous pregnancy. I also ate old sandwiches, over easy eggs, and coffee and pretty much everything you’re “ not supposed to eat”.

You can eat sushi that are made of cooked food. You just need to avoid raw food/fish. You are advised to do some to avoid salmonella. It is better to be safe than sorry. It is only 9 months. Rather than a lifetime of regret if some thing really happened to your pregnancy.

You're not supposed to eat the raw fish (or meat) because of I think it's listeria and or salmonella.
But in "developed" countries most foods are checked and double checked and tripple checked..
Here and there something might slip through so I'm not taking the risk, but truth be told, the risk in our day age and where we live the chances of it actually being infected is really small.
Anyways when it comes to sushi I would go with veggi or cooked sushi.

I wouldn't eat it from a gas station, and I'd lean more towards cooked but every once in a while shouldn't hurt anything. Double check with your OB as to what they specifically recommend. I've had doctors that have told me what I'm telling you but that doesn't mean that advice is right for you. Everything comes with risks and no one can decide what's an acceptable risk except for you and your doctor.
