What would you do?
My husband, daughter, and I live in the house that I grew up in. Its a 3 bedroom- so a master and two others.
One of those bedrooms is double the size of the other. Our daughter’s room is in the bigger room. Growing up, I had the bigger room and my brother had the smaller room. I remember only one time that my brother asked my parents why I got the bigger room, and my parents explained to him that they figured girls had more stuff in their rooms and also spent more time in their rooms in general, so they gave me the bigger room. My brother was happy with and accepted this explanation and it was never brought up again.
I am now pregnant with my second, and if this one is a boy I don’t mind giving him the smaller room with the same reasoning as my parents had. But if its a girl, I feel like one of them having a bedroom double the size of the other is going to cause some drama down the road. I’ve thought about having them share the big room and keeping the smaller one as a playroom or something, but I wouldn’t know what to do down the road if they wanted their own room.
I kinda feel like I’m overthinking this, but its a real concern of mine 😅
