Honey? Is He gonna be ok?

Question

I accidentally gave my baby a few bits of this yogurt before realizing that it had honey in it.

Answer

He should be fine. Honey carries a small risk of botulism but as babies age their digestive track becomes more capable of handling the spores and they are less likely to get sick. It’s not like there’s a magic switch that flips at 1 year old and all our babies are getting close to that point! I know it’s hard not to stress but just keep an eye out for hidden honey from now on and feel free to introduce it at 1 year. 
As a side note, sweetened yogurt isn’t really recommended for babies anyway. I like to get plain Greek yogurt and mix in one of the fruit purée pouches to sweeten it up a bit and baby girl loves it!

I accidentally fed my snowy honey cake over Rosh Hashanah. He was fine. Just make sure to keep an eye on him and take him to the doctor if something seems out of the ordinary.
