Diastasis
5 years after giving birth, I started working out seriously.💪yay💪But I noticed signs of diastasis recti, so I started researching the subject (all results are from US sources and I live in France). My research revealed all the wonderful ab-strengthening exercises I should NOT be doing. All, of course, which I have been doing since September. 😬So I decided to see a sports medicine doctor to get some "real" medical advice. He confirmed that I do have diastasis, but there was nothing to worry about and I could continue working out, even doing the very exercises the internet says I should not be doing (regular planks, for example)🤔. He warned me that the separation could worsen, but it was just aesthetic and suggested considering surgery. 😖 I'm not a doctor, but I'm not convinced he has given me any real advice except getting the surgery done. 🥴
Anyone else have diastasis and have seen a specialist for it?
