Endometrioma = endometriosis?

If I have an endometrioma cyst does it mean I have endometriosis? If so would that help determine the stage? And will it prevent me from having children?

I have endo and I didn’t realise until I had my first but  I’m having surgery soon to hopefully remove it

Yes it does. Your doctor can determine the stage by looking on ultrasound. Endometrioma’s can affect your fertility. They also place you at a higher risk for ovarian cancer, cause pelvic pain and decrease ovarian function.
