Is your SO (or you) active duty military?

Whether you guys are married, dating, etc., are you or your SO active duty in the military? 
Trying to see how many people are in the same boat as me 🙃

Since we moved abroad he is no longer in service but he used to be

We’re in Canada ...but he’s finishing his last month in the military now after almost 12 years. Will still be working with the military but for a private company.

My SO was in the Army ROTC in high school. He was very set that that’s what he was going to do in life. He got to college and—didn’t do ROTC when he got there. He said that he felt he shouldn’t. 
I often wonder how his decision impacted how we met (would we have met otherwise, etc.). 🤔
