No birthday gift from bf

Hi ladies I’m looking for some advice,

It was my birthday yesterday and my bf again didn’t get me anything or make me feel special in anyway. He has depression and often uses this as an excuse for everything. I am fully understanding of his mental health and over the years have let this slip and accepted that this is the way he is. He has a daughter from a previous relationship and I always make sure to spoil them both on special occasions and all year around. At Christmas he found out his ex is engaged and the night before my birthday found out she was pregnant and he doesn’t like the guy. I accept this must be difficult but we had a miscarriage last January so this already is a difficult month. I’m upset he couldn’t try and make my day special in anyway and choose to be sad about recent news. I really love him and want to have our own family but am I deluded and living in a fantasy land. He’s said I’m acting like a diva and should be more understanding of how he is feeling.

I’m just so low about it all.
