Depends on how much weight. Its not about appearance, its about health. If someone gains hundreds of pounds  and didnt care about what they were doing to their health yeah, i may rethink the relationship.

I think if you love someone you need to try to fix things before you decide to leave. You have to let the other person know how you feel. Personally, I wouldn’t leave my husband if he gained weight but I wouldn’t like it either. We are both healthy people and I don’t want him with health issues. If he all of a sudden started packing on weight I would want to know why. Depression? Stress? It’s not normal for someone to just put on a ton of weight especially men because they don’t struggle with hormones like women do. If he’s gaining weight due to personal issues then I would help him resolve those issues so he can get back on track.

Technically it is wrong, but it depends if they just gained weight and are willing to get help to work on losing it (which means you shouldn't leave them, you should help them) or do they want to stay the way they are with the weight? That could be a deal breaker if they gained a lot and dont want to change. Yet again, depends.
