Sick baby ?

My 2 month old keeps coughing and sneezing , I called her peds and she told me to get her a cool air mist humidifier &’ suction the nose .  I have been doing all those things and she’s still coughing and sneezing but is acting completely normal . Allergies maybe ? I have dogs and cats &’ she is exclusively breastfed .

It could just be a cold. Mine was three exact same way around 4 weeks old,  and I know it was a cold because her sister came home from preschool coughing and congested a couple of days before and then their dad got it too. She acted fine but her little nose sounded gross. We actually had her 1 month checkup a couple of days into it and her pedicure said it was just a cold.

My baby is going through the same exact thing right now 😕 we have just been using a cool mist humidifier saline and suctioning her nose and watching her temp. It’s so hard seeing them like this

My baby had a cold she caught from her siblings a couple weeks ago.  I ran the humidifier, suctioned her nose and used saline spray when suctioning to the nose to loosen it up first.  She had a bit of a cough too.  It went away in about a week on its own. If you notice any trouble breathing, call the doc again.

My baby will be 8 weeks old tomorrow and she started coughing on Saturday morning and then started getting super congested throughout the day and also sneezing more than normal, took her in no temp, lungs sound clear, negative rsv test and a super worried first time mom so I was super worried 😔😔
They told me to run the humidifier also and taking her in the steamy bathroom also suction her nose with the saline solution, and nothing seems to be helping her, she has been sleeping a little more than normal but acting a very happy baby as well! Hopefully they both feel better soon ♥️😔

Suctioning her nose and a humidifier are about all you can do, unfortunately. If it doesn’t go away in a few days or appears to get worse I would take her to the pediatrician to get tested for RSV. It’s a common cold in adults and older children. My daughter got RSV at 3 weeks old. She was very snotty and stuffy and a cough started on day 3. She never ran a fever. She ate well, but she was fussy and couldn’t breathe well on her back. She tested positive for RSV. We did albuterol breathing treatments, but not all doctors recommend it. Our pediatrician told us new research has shown that they may not be effective; however, she would rather do something than nothing. I hope your little one recovers quick!
