So I just found out yesterday that I am pregnant with our rainbow baby! Hoping this one sticks! I am due around 9/18. I am slightly worried because I also just got diagnosed with impetigo on my lips yesterday. The doctor asking if I might be pregnant led me to take a test to make sure for medication purposes, which is how I found out! So they prescribed mupiricin ointment to treat the infection. The pharmacist says although there are no confirmatory studies that the cream will or won't affect the baby, he thinks it should be fine since it has a small percentage absorbed systemically vs taking an oral antibiotic. What do you guys think? Have you ever taken this in previous pregnancies? Like I said I'm just worried since it's an "unknown", I'm so newly pregnant, and I've had a loss before.
