How soon to go of birth control?

My husband is currently deployed and we want to start trying to have a baby when he gets home in May. Should I go off birth control now or wait until he gets home. My birth control makes me not have a period so I’m not looking forward to having one again.

I would definitely stop it now because it could take a minute to regulate after you get off of it

I’d get off as soon as possible! I’ve read it takes 3-6 or more months to regulate afterwards. I stopped taking mine in December because we were going to start ttc in January but now I haven’t even gotten my period and it’s 2 weeks late (not pregnant). Now I’m worrying it is going to take a while to regulate which will make getting pregnant harder. I wish I would’ve  stopped it earlier because now that I’m ready ttc I am so ready but my body isn’t really.

It took my body 6 months to regulate after going off bc. My dr recommended that I go off at least 3 months before ttc

I’d say now. I was on the IUD for 10 yrs and it took me 6 months to get pregnant. During this 6 months it was so frustrating because I honestly thought I was never going to get pregnant again. I suggest do it now that he’s away.

I was on the pill for 15 years and thus still having my period. We got pregnant the very first ovulation cycle (2 weeks after stopping). They say you're most fertile the first month off. However, I'm not sure if that is the case for birth control that causes you not to have a period. The advice I can offer is by OPK tests. I'm certain that's why we got pregnant so quickly. I ovulated 4 days after the "normal 14 day cycle" and wouldn't have known if missed my window without the tests. Good luck and baby dust to you!
