Getting induced?

I'm 38 weeks pregnant. This is my 1st pregnancy. My baby is measuring 1 week ahead. They estimated she weighs about 6 pounds. And they said they might have to induce me just because shes 1 week ahead. Does that even make sense? I'm healthy, the baby is healthy. Pre pregnancy weight was 108. Now I'm 137. Please help.

It doesn't sound like good enough reason for me... Getting induced shouldn't even be a conversation till you're overdue or you are having complications. Measuring 1 week ahead is not a complication.

No, doesn’t make sense. If you don’t have GD, I would refuse an induction.

Those measurements are terrible. I had a doctor scare me last time saying my baby was already 8 lbs at 36 weeks. She came a week later, at 37 weeks and wasn’t even 6 lbs.

Measuring one week ahead but only weighs 6 pounds at 38 weeks?? That doesn't make any sense. I would be asking more questions why they want to induce

1 week ahead is hardly big at all. They base the measurements on a baby thats 7lb at birth so if your a week ahead your heading for a 7 and a half pound baby. I would definitely refuse that

I always get induced at 39 weeks im on my third and plan on doing so  again my husband is 6 foot 3 and I'm 5 ft lol

If you're measuring ahead close to your due date, it can be indicative of potential issues that can be dangerous for mother and baby. If your doctor is talking about an induction, chances are s/he's concerned about something.
