How did you afford infertility consult & treatment?

After a year on Metformin and multiple failed rounds of Clomid, my OB/GYN has referred me to an infertility specialist. My insurance will cover exactly 0% of my fertility treatments - including the consultation 😔 ... financially, we do fine for ourselves, but we do not finance things, have unnecessary debt (just our one car and his student loans), no credit cards, etc. Does anyone have experience with fertility treatment costs? What did your initial consultation & ultrasound cost you? Did your insurance cover any of it? I'm so frustrated! 😤
