Son interested more in toys or the dogs

I am a little worried because some days I feel my son is way more interested in playing with his toys or the dogs than people. By that I mean my husband or I. He does interact with us but if hes focused on his toys or watching/ following the dogs it's like he ignores us even when we are trying to get this attention. Is this normal baby behavior or a reason to be concerned? First time mom.

In articles I read babies love smiling and looking at faces and he does at times, but sometimes he would much rather just chill and ignores me when we play peek a boo. Sometimes he loves back and forth games.
