Why 38 weeks? Studies have shown that babies fare better at 39 weeks. What about non-medical induction such as a Foley catheter? That and ARM may be enough for you to start.This sounds a bit odd to me. Especially as the repeat ceaser is this early.
Membrane sweep at 37 weeks
So I have to Have a scheduled repeat C section at 38 weeks exactly . It’s already scheduled . My ob said today if I go into labor “naturally” I can have a vbac . He said if I wanted he would do a membrane sweep at 37 weeks to try to help me go into labor on my own . They will not induce me with medication due to risks . And I can’t go past 38 weeks so if I don’t go into labor I have to have a repeat c section at 38 weeks exactly . My question is , has anyone had a membrane sweep at 37 weeks and it work ?

That’s fine. I have come across women who have been told 38w with no medical explanation. Membrane sweeps really don’t work unless you’re already starting to dialate. Even then there is some argument about it. There is a 10% chances the sweep will break your water and not start labour. I would ask if non-medical induction other than a sweep is suitable for you.

I have medical reasons that I don’t think I should have to explain . If I was ABLE to carry my child longer I would . But I can’t .
My doctor has literally said the exact same things to me.

I’m going to wait and see what happens. My first son was really big that was why I needed a c section. But this time the baby isn’t measuring as big. I’ll have another scan when I am 30 weeks and we will decide what I want to do. I’m good with either way. I think the excitement of going into labor would be fun but I also don’t feel like I lost out on anything by having a c section with my first. I just want the baby to come
