Change my mind: you shouldn't work if you have kids if you don't have to

*not actually my mind, but I was reading a fb post of this woman who was ranting about moms choosing careers over their kids. She was saying how you shouldn't have kids if you are just going to choose your job over them. She wasn't talking about people who have to work to provide, but talking about the moms who don't have to go back to work, have kids, and then leave them in a daycare for the majority of the day*

I don't like to start arguments on here, but I kind of get where she is coming from. I am bias because i am a SAHM and have 3 kids.

I wonder why moms (or dads), who don't have to work, choose to go back to work after having kids, just to leave them with someone else and only see them 2-3 hours before bed?

I'm not judging, but genuinely curious on how moms come to the decision to do that.

I do understand people wanting kids and also loving their job- but do you think there is a better balance? Do you think kids should come first over a career if you have them?

*update* thanks everyone for responding respectfully! I enjoy hearing everyone's point of views, so I really like reading where everyone is coming from. I think it's really interesting how there's so many different views on parenting!
