Potty training

So.... how do you all potty train a boy. My son turned a year at the end of last year. I would like to start introducing him to the bathroom. You know here is the potty, this is what you do. See how he takes to it. If he likes I’d love to start actually potty training at the end of the summer, right before his birthday. If not we can always wait. I just have no clue how to potty train a boy. Do I sit him on the potty, do I gotta teach him to stand. 😂 y’all I only have sisters, no younger cousins, never baby sat. I asked my boyfriend I know he works crazy hours and I’d be home with my son to see things threw but my boyfriend said his ex wife potty trained all the kids he honestly has no clue what to do either. Help.
